The robot GIR from Invader ZIM is made into a foldable robot for 3D printing. This robot has a lot of fans and many requests to make.
There is no fixed size and shape because the animation is drawn with free lines. So it's a bit different from the picture, but I've created a form with my imagination. In the animation, the head is so large that the robot's head and body proportions have been adjusted to prevent it from falling over. And the arms and legs were adjusted to the size and thickness to print well with a 3D printer.
In the animation, the robot can open the top of the head, which puts a lot of effort into implementing this structure. Because of this structure, the head and torso are separately printed and joined together.
The folding order is especially important for this robot.
※ The head must be folded and inserted into the body. If you fold your head separately, you can't fit it in the torso. ※
1. When folding the torso first, fold the upper body first and insert it into the lower body.
2. The head should be folded to the torso. If you fold your head separately, you can't fit it later on.
3. Align the torso to the hole under the head.
4. Rotate out the pin on the inside of the head and insert it on the other side of the head, simultaneously inserting the neck.

how would one go about getting permission to sell the file commercially?
I love the model (and the show :)
Have you considered creating the "dog suit" version of GIR too?
If possible could we get the settings for Cura
You can download cura settings from your profile in FAB365.net
Please check this screen capture.
Thank you~
What an incredible model. I'm new to 3D printing, and I may have run into problems an experienced craftsman would not have. I had to dig support material out of the slots that provide articulation. Also, the neck knob snapped off almost immediately which I'm gluing back on. The infill doesn't match my own infill settings and I wonder if that's part of the model. If the infill was more dense, the neck knob wouldn't have snapped so easily.
Anyway, I'm learning, and this is a fantastic model.
Thank you.
My designs do not need supports.
So you should not use support option in slicer.
Now, we provide slicer settings from your profile in FAB365.net
I hope this will help you~
