GOODesign
GOODesign is a design studio established in Seoul, Korea by a representative who has been active in product design and 3D CG field for 20 years. As a design company that pursues a reasonable and differentiated digital design, it has always presented a new direction through working with clients such as Hyundai Motor, Siemens Korea and beiersdorf. This time, we have put out the life product for 3D printing by utilizing various technique design based on the shape of the Class-A surface. These products are especially the result of deep research on the 3D printing dominant shape that can not be mass-produced using a mold.
When I was a child, I watched a movie or a TV show about cars that had the ability to move on their own (artificial intelligence as it is now said) and I was completely fascinated by them. Now, cars that realize their functions more sophisticatedly than those cars continue to appear, but the charm of that time still exists. So I made KITT first, and a lot of people liked it. So next, another movie and TV AI car, the Herbie, was created with a folding design for 3D printing.
Herbie is a VW beetle car with artificial intelligence that has been made into many movies and TV shows, including Herbie, the love bug. It is an automobile that has been loved by people so much that it has been made into a number of movies and TV shows.
Since the key to this design is color division, the structure that opens the hood and engine cover has been eliminated.
Because the size of the parts is small, we recommend printing large scale.
Please refer to the video for the process of printing and making.
1 : 38 scale
When expanded, size = X 86mm, Y 126mm, Z 24mm After folding X 44mm, Y 110mm, Z 41mm

Herbie, what a cult.
Another great design! Loved how it came together without needing to do multi-head printing :)
I have never been disappointed in you models until Herbie. I am having trouble with the 53's going together. The set for the hood cracks every time I print it. any suggestions? using Cura 4.11.
Your layer(I guess 0.2mm or thicker) is thick and rough and irregular.
I recommend print thinner(0.15mm or 0.1mm) or print larger.
Thank you~
可以在其他平台上线吗?来自中国用户,无法使用paypal~!我是一正版支持者。。如果可以去https://cults3d.com/这里发布你的产品吗?很喜欢可以购买你家的产品~!
Lovely model, printed at maximum size for my printbed which came out at exactly 192,54% times the original size. Came out great. Printed on Prusa i3 MK3S+. 0.15 mm layer height.
Your printing is awesome!
Every details are very clear!
Bigger is better!
Thank you!!!
Wonderful model, but the underbody STL needs to be repaired by NetFabb before it can be used in PrusaSlicer, and it cannot be printed in SuperSlicer (it cannot repair it properly)
We checked with Netfabb, but we couldn't find any problem.
Could you share screen shot about that problem?
Thank you!
For some reason the slicer adds a bridge layer covering up some important holes, repairing with NetFabb makes it slice properly
When I sliced, NO problems found.
Did you turn on supports?
My designs do not need supports at all.
Please check support option is turn on.
Not related to supports, my screenshot shows supports are off. It is related to layer height, only happens at 0.12mm. 0.11 and 0.13 are fine.
Repairing with NetFabb allows this to be printed at 0.12 without the issue.
This is amazing. Herbie was my favorite as a kid (I bought a bug when I grew up!)
This is next in my list of stuff to print for ME.
Thank you very much! I hope you enjoy a lot~
What color did you use for the body? I can't quite find one that matches-gray, silver and white are just not the same look.
I used light grey from Spoolworks. But this company closed.
Any bright grey color is OK.
I have some Fillamentum Light Ivory on the way just for this
Great model! Can you link to the silk plastic?
The silver I use is not as shiny.
I used esun silky silver!
I look forward to your review~
Thank you~
Thank you :)
You are welcome!
Please enjoy!
Hello beautiful design top.
Can I adjust / double the size ??
Thank you
